Ultrasonic Hatch Cover & Watertight Door Testing
Fast, accurate and environmentally friendly ultrasonic testing of hatch covers and watertight doors — a modern alternative to chalk and hose testing, compliant with SOLAS Reg II-1/11.1 and IACS recommendations. Identifies leaks before they cause costly cargo damage.
Hatch Cover Testing: One of the main causes for concern in the shipping industry is damage that seawater can cause to a ship’s cargo. Cygnus Hatch Sure ultrasonic tester provides a fast, effective and economical method of evaluating hatch seals for leaks and weather resistance. Identification of leaking hatch coamings cuts down potential for costly cargo damage and insurance claims.
Watertight Door Testing: Watertight doors are essential safety infrastructure that block water ingress during emergencies. Sealing must comply with SOLAS Reg II-1/11.1 and IACS standards require periodic testing. While chalk testing is traditional, it is not precise and hose testing creates mess and waste. Watertight ultrasonic testers provide a modern, effective and reliable alternative to chalk and hose testing.
